First, a DISCLAIMER: This podcast site allows me to podcast free of charge, however, few things are really ever "free." The developers/hosts of this podcast site have to make a living, and not charging me a fee is, of course, a sorry way to go about that, as a result brief advertisements are sometimes placed in the podcast. I have no control over this or the content.

ABOUT THIS PODCAST: In my previous PC I mentioned that I planned on recording a sermon on this Sunday's Epistle reading, said sermon being from St John Chrysostom. As I was recording that sermon it occurred to me that the translation I was using was rather outdated and would sound odd to modern ears, as a result I decided not to proceed with this plan.

This podcast contains a sermon on the Parable of the Pharisee and the Publican recorded in Luke 18:9-14. This is the text for this Sunday's Gospel reading (August 9, 2009; 10th Sunday after Pentecost). This sermon was originally preached by Father Augustine Wirth, a great Benedictine preacher who died in 1901.

Please feel free to critique my presentation in the combox. I'd like to get some feedback on the following: 1. do I need to speak louder? 2. do I need to concentrate on enunciating my words more clearly? 3. Do I need to speak faster or slower? 4. Any other points you can think of? please let me know.

A tip of the hat goes to THE DIVINE LAMP blog for finding this sermon (see the link to that site in the sidebar).
